Our Inspection department is structured to provide our customers complete assurance that the parts we grind meet their specifications. Beginning with our 8 step procedure for in-process inspection, every part is checked for compliance using 2 forms of inspection. This procedure is repeated during the entire production process as the part moves from one type of grinding cell to another. Production cells and each machine have all the necessary micrometers, gaging and visual inspection equipment to ensure quality products are produced, including 12 OGP Comparators. Final inspection is performed on state-of-the-art inspection equipment, providing our customers with computer generated SPC charts and reports. We have implemented and trained all of our employees on SPC charting and the valuable use of this tool.
Visual Inspection System
Our four RAM Optical machines are designed to perform visual dimensional inspections of single parts as well as the staging of multiple ones with tolerances to 0.0001" The systems are capable of printing SPC reports and generating photographs.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Our four machines offer the ability to generate detailed printed dimensional information. The machines include 1 manual, 2 new motorized manual and a new Zeiss Contura G2 CNC CMM. An upgrade to Prolink QC Calc software has been implemented to permit SPC reporting. Two of the CMM machines are used in final inspection only, the other two are used for the in-process inspection of parts.
Laser Micrometers
Our three laser micrometers are used for extremely close tolerance dimensional checks. They are accurate to one ten millionths of an inch (0.000010).
Contracer CV-3100H4
The Contracer CV-3100H4 with a traverse range of 100mm and vertical travel of 500mm enables our final inspection to maintain precise measurements. It is accurate to .00004. The X and Z2-axis improves reproducibility of continuous automatic measurement and repeated measurement of parts which are difficult to position.
Lapmaster Monochromatic Lights
The Lapmaster Monochromatic Lights are used to measure surface flatness within .000001 in parts ranging in size up to 10.5” in diameter. We have the ability to gage threads using System 22. These gages are used in the automotive and aerospace industries, where high volume and quality are needed.
