The Surface Grinding department has 7 production machines. These machines are used to grind carbide and other hard metals up to 12 X 24 X 14 inches to tolerances of one ten thousandths of an inch (0.0001)

We increase productivity by assigning one operator to two machines. Our surface grinding department also has two Blanchard rotary grinders that can grind a part up to 36" in diameter and hold tolerances to two ten thousands of an inch (0.0002").

Our newest addition to the department is a Stahli DLM-705 double disk grinder. This machine can grind flatness and parallelism to 50 millionths, removing .001 per second. The Stahli allows us to increase quantities and shorten cycle times, which maximizes efficiency and effectiveness in our department.
